Your starting prompt

Draft a short email to our client explaining the status of a contract review and recommending what to do next. Notes: The supplier wants signatures on Friday. The data-security schedule is still missing. We have not reviewed it. The client must decide whether to request more time.

Two additions we kept

Ask before drafting: “Before you begin, ask me the 3–5 questions whose answers would most change your output: about facts, audience, jurisdiction, goals, or constraints. Then stop and wait for my answers. Do not produce the work product yet.”

Make missing facts visible: “Never invent, assume, or approximate facts: names, dates, amounts, events, procedural history. Where a fact is missing, insert [FACT NEEDED: description] and keep going. A draft full of honest brackets beats a smooth draft full of fiction.”

You choose what fits. AutoPilot suggested five additions in Balanced mode. We removed three that were unnecessary for this short email and kept these two. You can remove or edit suggestions before copying the prompt.

These instructions guide the next AI tool; they do not prove its answer is accurate. Review the resulting draft, verify its claims, and decide what advice the client needs before sending.
